The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield is collaborating with the Garden Club of America to host "Galleries in Bloom” May 9-12, 2008, with more than 40 beautiful floral arrangements placed throughout the museum inspired by art and artifacts. Selected arrangements will complement the aquarium and natural science collections, as well as the Native American exhibit and brand new Feigenbaum Hall of Innovation. All proceeds benefit year-round educational programming at the Berkshire Museum. Admission: $13 adults ($8 members); $9 children 3-18 ($5 members).

The first of three gallery and studio walks in Turners Falls this year will be on May 17-May 18, 2008. May in Boston means lilacs in bloom, the return of Boston Ballet’s SwanLake (May 1-11, 2008) and the opening of the 123rd Boston Pops season on May 7th. SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTSThe Attleboro Art Museum presents Viktor Schreckengost Legacy Exhibition through May 16, 2008. Schreckengost was both a prolific artist and a brilliant designer. He created over 1500 works of sculpture, ceramics and paintings from 1920 to the mid 1990s – a new work of art nearly every two weeks for well over 70 years. On Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 8 p.m., the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MassMoCA) in North Adams presents NYC-based Jenny Scheinman, a thrillingly talented violinist/composer who swings from jazz to classical to rock with acrobatic grace. Her band includes some of the best musicians in the Big Apple - come prepared to be dazzled. On May 25, the museum presents SonVolt, a storied alt country band with roots that run deep into the genre’s beginnings.
