Mark your calendar now for Sunday, June 21, 2009 on Cape Cod! Start the day off in downtown Hyannis at the Father’s Day Auto Show and WCOD Chowder Festival, and then make your way to Bourne for the first annual Cape Cod Quahog Day at the Quahog Republic Waterfront Eatery.

The day of family fun kicks off at 2 p.m. with the "Quahog Prognostication," an announcement from the Secretary General of Quahog Republic as he receives word from the “official quahog” on how many weeks of beach weather lie ahead. Other highlights include a clambake preparation ritual, shucking demonstrations, live entertainment, kids’ activities and various contests, where attendees can compete to be the 2009 Ms. Quahog, Boss Hog and Miss Littleneck. The event will be emceed by Channel 5 News Anchor Steve Lacy.

GREATER MERRIMACK VALLEY

Setting the President's Table: American Presidential China from the McNeil Americana Collection at the Philadelphia Museum of Art will be on display at the Concord Museum through October 12, 2009.  This special exhibition showcases over 100 pieces of porcelain used by American presidents from Washington to Lincoln and Roosevelt to Reagan as they entertained distinguished gatherings of diplomats, celebrities, and royalty at the national "First Table." PLYMOUTH COUNTY

The 54th Annual Arts Festival at the South Shore Art Center will be held June 19-21, 2009 in historic seaside Cohasset Common. Featuring a juried exhibition and members' show, a young artist exhibition, live musical performances, artist demonstrations, arts, crafts and children's activities. GREATER BOSTON

June 2009 in Boston means free festivals! The 30th Dragon Boat Festival will be held June 6-7, the 27th annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl will run June 9-11, the Annual Gay Pride Parade & Festival is set for June 13, and The Bunker Hill/Charlestown Parade is celebrated June 14. On June 20th, don't miss the Life Is Good Festival, a free outdoor celebration on Boston Common featuring live music, classic backyard food, and a colorful mix of good-time games and activities.

SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS

On June 6, 2009, the Taunton Riverfront Festival will be held at Weir Riverfront Park in Taunton. Enjoy riverboat tours, food, children’s activities and live entertainment. Then, New Bedford celebrates its deep cultural ties and traditions with Portugal in the city’s north end at the annual Day of Portugal Festival Weekend on June 12-14, 2009. FRANKLIN COUNTY

RiverFest in Shelburne Falls will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Musicians and vendors stroll throughout the village amid the scenic beauty of Deerfield River during this annual family celebration, which includes singing, storytelling and children’s games. Also, a new film about the history of the watershed will be shown at Pot Hole Pictures Friday evening and there will be two hikes on the Mahican-Mohawk Trail on Sunday. THE BERKSHIRES

See the artful Berkshires as never before at two new aerial adventure parks! The Deerfield Valley Canopy Tours in Charlemont is a three-hour tour among the trees tops. Use zip-lines and suspended bridges to get from place to place above the forest floor. And at the Catamount Adventure Park in South Egremont, navigate an aerial-forest rope course walking or jumping from tree platform to tree platform. MOHAWK TRAIL REGION

The Williams College Museum of Art in Williamstown will soon present “Prendergast in Italy,” the first exhibition devoted exclusively to the Italian watercolors, monotypes, and oil paintings of Maurice Prendergast. The exhibition features over 60 views of Venice, Rome, Siena, and Capri and includes the artist’s personal sketchbooks, letters, photographs, and guidebooks from the turn of the last century. After opening at the museum on July 18, 2009, Prendergast in Italy travels to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice Italy. Admission is free.

CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS

This summer, unwind in Worcester on Friday nights, and enjoy widely acclaimed musical performers like The Love Dogs. Beginning June 12, 2009, the EcoTarium and WICN Public Radio unveil their six-show Jazz at Sunset series of outdoor concerts, guaranteed to start your weekend right! This unique experience is one of Central Massachusetts' most popular summer events, with its casual atmosphere and multigenerational appeal. Concerts are held at the Ecotarium at 222 Harrington Way in Worcester from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

GREATER SPRINGFIELD

The 2009 Easthampton Bear Fest will kick off in June 2009, run though the summer and culminate in a city-wide, weeklong celebration of the arts in mid-October. Starting in June, several life-sized (adult and cub) bears will be displayed throughout the downtown area, within a reasonable walking tour. A “Bear Track” map will allow visitors to track each bear found, and photo opportunities will abound! Several creative artists will contribute to this fest. Gloucester is the go-to place in June! Gloucester Stage kicks off its 30th season with “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” June 4-21, 2009.
