Premier musical event! Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will present the 22nd Annual Green River Festival on July 18 and 19, 2008 on the grounds of Greenfield Community College, located conveniently near Exit 26 on I-91. Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Featured performers this year include Lucinda Williams, Mavis Staples, Jimmy Vaughan, Crooked Still, Los Straitjackets, Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, among others. Other highlights of the festival include hot air balloons, launching approximately 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting. Rides are available. GREATER BOSTONThe 27th Annual Boston HARBORFEST will be held June 26-July 4, 2008, showcasing the historic city’s colonial and maritime heritage. The new Nantucket Comedy Festival, Monday, July 28–Saturday, August 2, 2008, promises a six-day yuk-fest this summer. Founded by New York and Nantucket comedian Kevin Flynn, the week features Mike Birbiglia from Comedy Central, Ladies Night, a Night of Political Humor and a Tribute Roast to Nantucket’s longest running comedy couple and island residents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.
